A gift from India: Indian outfit worn two ways

One of my dearest friends recently got back from a visit to her hometown in India. I'm one lucky girl! I got a wonderful gift from her :-) I'm amazed at how she managed to get my size to a 'T'! For fall, I see myself wearing this skirt with a t-shirt and a denim jacket or vest. I also see myself wearing this top with faux leather leggings and a Moto jacket to give me that chic and edgy look. Today, I decided to style this outfit with a tribal necklace which I got a few years ago from ideeli and a vintage gold snake bracelet from Atlantis Dry Goods. The second picture...well, you really can't go wrong with the combination of lace and peplum :-)

*Anthropolgie necklace - got that a while back on sale. No longer available.

*My Instagram picture - I especially liked this chunky gold link necklace with it.

Tell me what you think, how else would you style this outfit?

Disc Stud Earrings

One of my favorite earrings to wear are a pair of disc gold stud earrings by Jessica Simpson which I got a few years ago. I love the simplicity and subtle elegance of it. I wore them in a couple of posts (here) and (here). I pretty much wear these earrings almost everyday, they are quite versatile and look great on anything I wear.  Honestly I wish I purchased two pairs. Unfortunately I've not seen another one of these Jessica Simpson earrings so began the search for something similar. Below are some disc stud earrings that are on my wish list. Let me know what you think! Which pair of earrings do you reach for most of the times? Like me, are you starting to lean more towards wearing studs?

One step at a time - Workout Clothes

My number one form of exercise that I enjoy most is spinning. I get to do this about 3-4 times during the week. It wasn't until recently that I started incorporating running into my workout routine. I've come a long way and its been one step at a time, I can now safely say that running 4miles does not feel so bad. In order to push myself I signed up for a 10mile marathon which will be held in October... yikes! Jeez...with this humidity, I've got my work cut out. Aside from my playlist which puts me in beast mode, I love feeling empowered in my workout clothes. I have found Marshalls to be a great place to shop for workout clothes.

*Once I've got my Polar heart rate monitor, ipod, and shades...I'm good to go!

*I'm a flat footer which means little to no arch and I've found Asics to work perfectly for me. This  one is the GEL NOOSA it's light weight and it gives me the support.

I'd love to hear where you like to shop for workout clothes or is there a specific brand you like to purchase mostly?

Wish me luck on this upcoming first 10mile run!

Blue Hearts & Afternoon at the movies

Loving the fact that even though summer is just about over, I'll be wearing summer dresses for at least another month... gotta love Texas! On this day the hubby and I were on our way to the movies to watch "We're the Millers". That movie was beyond hilarious! The whole cast did a fantastic job, they had me laughing nonstop... Good times! I decided to wear this beautiful red dress, perfect for a casual afternoon date. The sweetheart neckline with blue colored hearts and polka dots made this dress stand out, great combination!

*As you can see by my big grin it was a fun time at the movies :-)

*I put on my go-to sandals and crossbody bag and off we went.

Summer Lipsticks

It's time for a roundup of my summer most frequently used lipsticks. Here are selfie shots that I've posted on my Instagram. It's so hard to pick a favorite, but one thing for sure is that I've enjoyed more drug store lipsticks than ever before... I'm loving Revlon at the moment!

MAC - Fresh Brew: I've been lucky to find two nude lipsticks that are perfect for my skin tone and this one I find myself using more times than ever. Quite moisturizing and long lasting.

Revlon - Mauve Mania: Love Revlon lipsticks! Mauve Mania definitely not a mauve color but more of a nude with a hint of pink. Perfect for any skin tone. Its a matte lipstick that has no dryness to it.

Revlon - Berry Couture: I've worn this lipstick more times this summer than any other. Its a light rose pink color and very creamy!

Revlon - Wine Not: I purchased this lipstick last fall, I knew instantly that is was going to be worn through out the year..... It works all year round. A deep rich burgundy color that complements my skin tone.

NARS - Heat Wave: High pigmentation as expected with all things NARS. Its an orange/red matte color that lasts for hours.

Revlon - Sugar Plum: Anything plum works well for me. Its a sheer lipstick, again quite moisturizing.

What's your favorite lipstick, I'd love to hear what lipstick you've used most this summer.

See you soon!

Printed Silk Maxi

What a busy day it was for me Saturday, I decided to stick to my "to-do" list as much as possible. I was determined to have a feeling of accomplishment by the end of the day. Well....I'm happy to report the important items which included everything from kids school shopping to picking up prescription glasses for my son was complete :-)
When the evening drew near the hubby and I got dressed up for a night out with friends. It was the perfect opportunity for me to debut this vibrant silk pleated maxi skirt which I got from Hautlook in January.

*What a unique print this is from designer ALEXIS. Really love it. Unfortunately I searched but couldn't find other places it was sold.
*While running errands, I came across a BOGO sale at francesca's. That's where I got this blouse.

Vintage hand tooled Leather bag and Denim dress - Atlantis Dry Goods

I scored big time on this one....it was just meant to be. Yes, that's how I feel about this bag from Atlantis Dry Goods. I've fallen in love with a lot of items that I've purchased from their website, this by far has become my favorite. A total coincidence I must say. A couple of months ago Karen from Atlantis Dry Goods posted on Facebook about her putting up a vintage hand tooled leather bag for sale and if anyones initial was N.K. it would be a perfect fit. The craftsmanship on this bag is very impressive, the rose flowers and butterflies draw you in. My little girl has told me that she wants me to save it for her till she's older. It warms my heart to hear that :-)

Love that it can go with many outfits, however the first thing I thought about when I saw this bag was a simple denim dress.

Cat's Eye earrings and so hard to say good bye

I love stud earrings, I wear the same pair of gold studs almost everyday. Occasionally I change things up by wearing chandelier earrings like the one worn in my 4th of July post (here). I've seen a variety of aqua blue teardrop earrings but this one caught my eyes. Its the perfect shade of aqua blue plus I love how the gold goes all around the stone.  This earring is a perfect touch when worn with this black maxi dress, bright colored lip stick and sandals. I call it, my simple saturday morning running errands outfit. This maxi dress I've had for a very long time, through the years I've lost some weight and the fit is just not there anymore. I've had a very difficult time letting go of this dress. I guess I'll wear it one more time before letting go :-) Happy Saturday!
