New Year Eve Edition: River Island Embellished Sequin Maxi

When I think of New year's eve, I think of a short cocktail dress with its fair amount of shine and bling. However I'm finding more and more maxi dresses that fit the bill. This River island dress just screamed New Year's Eve. Quite daring I'd say for me with its cut-out sides, but when else can I get away with wearing something like this? :-) Surprisingly I loved how it looked on me even with the cut-out.

Unfortunately this dress is sold-out, I'm lucky that I found this dress on sale from River Island website. I found some other dresses that I absolutely adored.

Lasting Memories With Brilliant Earth: Personality Style Challenge

Brilliant Earth contacted me to join their Personality Style Challenge. The challenge is to put together a style board for a personality category of my choosing. Since I consider myself to be both the vintage lover and glamours girl, I decided to create two style boards.
Anyone that knows me, knows I'm a big romantic at heart, but then again what girl doesn't love a little romance in her life, right? The Holidays are a perfect time to show that romantic side, whether its a candlelit dinner date with the hubby or a New Year's eve proposal, Brilliant Earth has just the right jewelry for you.

~Revlon Lipstick: "Lustrous Pearl Blushing Mauve"

I have to say I was quite thrilled to do this challenge as it not only gave me a chance to display my love for styling but also to learn more about this company and its mission to help reduce the demand for dirty gold mining. So, what have I learned you may ask? Well, for starters they have an amazing selection of high quality jewelry but what's even more important is that they go through the process of carefully selecting suppliers that adhere to strict labor and environmental standards. Their recycled precious metals guarantees an eco-friendly gold and platinum fine jewelry, and what's even better is that they believe in giving back and do so by donating 5% of their profits to mining communities.

Accordion Pleats and Panel Trousers: Isabel Lu + French Connection

I'm really loving this accordion pleated blouse. What's not to love about it? Perfect pleats that run down the front and back, plus a vibrant hot pink color to make this blouse very unique. Another great purchase from HauteLook which I'm so glad I got. I also lucked out with this French Connection Panel pants.  For this post I wanted to keep my accessories to a minimum.

Holiday Party Attire edition: All Black and Chic with Pewter glitter shoes + The Piano Guys Holiday

'Tis the season for opaque tights and glitter. As we prepare for the holiday party season, I decided to do a series of Holiday outfit posts. Today's outfit post incorporates different textures into my all-black attire, making it a very chic look. You can't go wrong with a velvet black blazer, especially during the holidays. The pewter glitter shoes and that holiday glitter, these were purchased exactly one year ago during last year's Cyber Monday from DSW. I remember that day vividly :-) I felt like I made it out like a bandit; with my rewards certificates it made for a wonderful online shopping experience :-) Oddly enough this year I did not purchase one item during cyber Monday. Hmm, what's up with that? Some how my hectic day went by so fast! oh well! :-)

One of my favorite bands to listen to on YouTube are the Piano Guys. Earlier this year I got the chance to watch them in concert and just as I expected its was a wonderful experience. I often wish I knew how to play a musical instrument. The Piano guys now have  a new christmas album, to put us all in the holiday spirit I figured I'd share with you their version of "Angel we heard on high".

Double Breasted Wool Peacoat

I've been looking for the perfect winter coat. Now I know what you're thinking, "Nnene it does not get that cold here in Houston!" :-) Well with our warm one day and cold the next day type of weather,  I'm ready for the few times that it does get cold. This double breasted Andrew Marc Peacoat I found on Hautelook and for a fraction of the price on their website. I'm very pleased with it.
What you don't see in these pictures are my two kids running around in the background while my friend Alicia gets her shots.. Ha!

*This pose was suggested my daughter..lol

Camo Days

This week pretty much flew by and I'm amazed at how much I think I've crossed off my to-do list but yet so much more to be done. Having this "problem" I welcome. This week we honored the men and women that have put their lives on the line to defend our freedom. So this little "problem" of not finishing my daily tasks I am grateful for. I am thankful that I am free to do the things I love and be with the people that matter most. On Veteran's day I watched my little girl who's a 4th grader sing in her school choir for the Veteran's day parade. Nothing is perfect but I certainly feel blessed.

A Handmade Jewelry and Aztec Print Skirt

This handmade necklace was given to me by a very good friend Teresa.  I can see she put a lot of work into this creation and I'm the lucky person who now owns it :-) I decided to wear it with this vibrant aztec print skirt from TopShop. I have to admit this was my very first purchase from them and I'm loving it, the colors..... perfect for fall. It just so happens this skirt is currently on sale (checkout link below). On the day I wore this outfit my daughter told me, the colors reminded her of Halloween. Gotta love kids and their honesty :-)

*I had to put this shot in the mix...LOL. The bugs came flying at me and I almost swallowed one.
