Vintage Love, Florals and Denim for Casual Friday

Happy Friday!
My creation of this Style board is inspired by what I'm wearing today. I spent last weekend in the beautiful city of Asheville, NC. I'm in love with that city, such a wonderful and hip place to be. Lots to see and do in and around the Asheville area. I enjoyed my shopping experience, stopped by some really neat little boutiques. Minx is where I bought the floral pencil skirt that I'm wearing today.

* This similar skirt is such a charmer from:
 House of Fraser.
Florals and Denim for Casual Friday:

Finding my Beast Mode: Graphic Tee and Riding boots

*Style board on Polyvore based on the outfit I'm wearing in this picture.

So the graphic animal tee trend has been around for a couple of years now and I for one am not letting go of this Tee just because the trend is about to be over, or is it? who knows? All I know is I absolutely love my Tee! The feeling of empowerment, action-oriented comes to mind. Yes, its just a Tee but its all about where you draw your strength right? Actually this is my second outfit post on this Tee, checkout my other post here.

We often use the term beast mode when talking about working out. That zone where you feel as though you are the winner at a 100meter race or a winner at the Tour de France when actually you are in a spinning class. Ahh! such a wonderful feeling that is. For me beast mode also means trying to stay inspired and motivated not just in the gym but also other aspects of my life.

So what keeps me motivated or inspired? My #1 motivation of course are my two bundles of joy.
But besides that, many people say motivation and inspiration can come from anywhere. Whether its a quote, an article from a site I visited, a travel post from a blog, healthy recipes from a blog or a fashion post; here are a few sites that have recently peaked my interest for various reasons.

Valentine's Day: Chic and Sexy

Happy Valentine's Day! Looking forward to a nice long restful weekend that may involve cooking up a new recipe for valentines day. Lately I've been obsessed with food blogs and excited about new dishes. My latest food websites and blog obsessions: My Fancy Pantry, Love and Zest  and the wonderful cookbook from Fitter Food. Whether its dinner at home or dinner at a nice romantic restaurant, I certainly plan on wearing this sexy, chic red dress ;-)

* This dress is pretty much versatile especially when choosing a statement necklace. I chose to pair it with Meghan Fabulous Shimmy necklace which I purchased from ideeli a couple of years ago.

*I'm feeling more and more comfortable and confident making choices that involve form fitting dresses, thanks to the consistent effort I've been putting on my workouts.

The Pleasure of Love

The Pleasure of Love

As usual I was surfing the web for nothing in particular when I came across this beautiful Allen Schwartz red lace dress on Rue La La for a very good price might I add. Without hesitation and one click on my mouse I added it to my shopping cart. However I let it linger in the shopping cart way too long and missed the opportunity to get it. Oh Well :-) That did not stop me from day dreaming about different styling options and places it could be worn. What came to mind was Paris! Hence the new style board I put together. I love the simple chic and edgy look of this combination.

Lunar Year: The Year of the Horse

The kids and I spent yesterday at the Discovery Green for the Vietnamese Lunar New Year festival.
This year is said to be the year of the Horse, which I was told meant the year for good fortune. It is said that anyone born this year is strong-willed, adventurous and resilient. All this describes me I thought to myself, so what animal was my year?  I had to check :-) Turns out I was born the year of the Rabbit :-)
 * I Really enjoyed the dragon dance. Very colorful, I really can't say what everything they did meant but it was exciting to see.

* Today was a no thrills day. It was quite chilly. What I call Houston cold weather ;-)
So for me it was all about comfort and warmth.

* I love this lady's traditional Vietnamese outfit. Love the colors.

Sunday Brunch and Beauty Haul

Happy Monday! As usual, I was long overdue for a visit to Sephora. I completely ran out of black eyeliner and eye shadow primer. So my goal over the weekend was to find my way to Sephora :-)Sounds easier said than done but between taking the kids to a birthday party and other errands its easy for the weekend to go by too fast. All I wanted to do was stay outside to enjoy the weather. Over here in Houston we had a fantastic weather. I knew right away an outdoor brunch was to be had first.

*My outfit was all about comfort and to me this skirt and the low heeled boots did just that.
Love the versatility of this Gap moto jacket.

*Brio Brunch was delicious to say the least. The selection from the menu was "Eggs Oscar" which was two poached eggs hollandaise sauce and a wonderful shrimp cake. The second dish was from the appetizer menu "Spicy Shrimp & Eggplant", that was my favorite, the eggplant was a Romano crusted eggplant.

Next stop Sephora! Like a kid in the candy store. However I chose to stay on task and purchase only what I needed :-)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy the week!
